Know that success comes with Allah's help, with faith and trust. It is achieved through the acceptance that Allah does what He wills.
Sometimes it's a bit like serendipity.
You may want one thing, but receive another. Through this we know that maybe we didn't receive what we aked for, but surely Allah gave us what we needed and who knows our needs better than Him?
Some souls tire from asking, from weeping to Him. But the soul which loves Him does not, rather it finds contentment and peace in such longing.
You must awaken from sweet slumber which overtakes you, and move forth towards your Lord who is waiting to give, waiting to respond.
Imam Shafi'ee رحمه الله said: Dua' at Tahajjud is like an arrow which does not miss its target.
A dearest friend once said: Archery helps one relieve burdens, and a lot of relief is attained through releasing the arrow, likewise dua' is of such greatness because you release them like arrows and feel the relief of burdens from doing so.
Whatever you may want, remember to pray Tahajjud for it. Even if there may not be something which you wholeheartedly desire, surely you want Jannah.
And The Prophet ﷺ said:
“In Paradise there are apartments the outside of which can be seen from the inside and the inside of which can be seen from the outside.”
A Bedouin stood up and said: “Who are they for, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said: “They are for those who speak good words, feed others, fast regularly and pray to Allah at night when people are sleeping.”
(Narrated in Tirmidhi.) -
SubhanAllah if you can leave your bed for the sake of Allah, it shows devotion and love. We can sleep on empty stomachs despite hunger, but can we force ourselves to eat when slumber overtakes us? The body needs sleep more than food, so if you can sacrifice it for Allah, it demonstrates pure, sincere love for Him because only those who are sincere will go to Him whilst the rest of the house sleeps.
Oh restless soul, why do you grieve when your Lord is waiting for your arrival at His door, waiting to bless you with peace?
Yours sincerely,
'Izzah Syauqina
